Cured in place pipes (drain lining) is one of several trenchless rehabilitation methods used to repair existing pipelines in Wolverhampton. CIPP is a joint less pipe-within-a-pipe with the capability to rehabilitate underground drains. Drain relining is where a resin-saturated felt tube made of polyester, is inverted or pulled into a damaged pipe. Liners used for pipes with bends are made from a woven fabric allowing them to go around bends with minimal wrinkling, they are usually inserted from an access point (manhole or excavation).
Little or no digging is involved in this trenchless process making for a potentially more cost effective and less disruptive method than traditional dig and replace pipe repair methods. The liner can be inverted using water or air pressure. Air pressure required for inversion is generated using a compressor.Hot water or UV light is used to cure the resin and form a tight-fitting, joint less and corrosion-resistant replacement pipe. Service laterals are restored internally with robotically controlled cutting devices in larger diameter pipe. Smaller diameters can be opened remotely however they are usually reinstated by excavation. The resin used is typically Polyester. The rehabilitated pipe is then inspected by closed-circuit television (CCTV).
The cost of drain relining (drain lining) and other drain repair work is often covered by your buildings insurance. You can authorise us to deal directly with your insurer while we carry out the work which helps to get the problem solved and ensures that the claim is resolved as per their requirements.
